Gold Inlaid Bronze Hu Vase Stool giving a sense of movementThis lovely bronze vase is a reproduction of an ancient Chinese wine vessel known as a 'Hu'. The originals were first produced during the Shang dynasty (1600 1045 BC) for use in religious rituals, or to be placed in the tombs of the wealthy deceased. The shape of this one is typical of the originals excavated from ancient burial sites, with wide body, narrow neck handles at each side. Later versions, produced during the 'Warring States' period (475 to
